Madinah (officially Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, "The Enlightened City")and also known as madinat al nabi(city of the prophet) is the second holiest city in Islam and a major pilgrimage destination in western Saudi Arabia. It serves as the burial place of the Prophet Muhammad and was the first capital of the Islamic caliphate after the Hijrah in 622 CE
